Self-piercing
Industrial eyelets for every application: marquees, lorry tarpaulins, flags and more
Whether you need eyelets for large-format marquees, industrial awnings, lorry tarpaulins or fixings for flags and signage, PLASTGrommet’s self-piercing metal eyelets are designed to withstand tension, the elements and continuous use. Available with brass or steel washers depending on the material to be secured.
Self-piercing brass and steel eyelets (Ø9.5, Ø11.5 and Ø15 mm)
Self-piercing eyelets do not require the material to be pre-punched: the installation process itself creates the hole and secures the eyelet in a single stroke. Available in nickel-plated brass and steel in diameters of Ø9.5, Ø11.5 and Ø15 mm. Compatible with the HPS025, HPS020R and HANDPRO manual eyelet setting machines via interchangeable dies for each size.
Eyelets for automatic machines (high production volume)
For production runs of thousands of units per day, the Ø9.5 and Ø12 mm brass eyelets and the Ø12 Plus steel model are fed automatically into the AUTOCROSS and MULTIPRESS machines. The automatic eyelet and washer feeding system eliminates the need for manual intervention and significantly increases the fitting speed compared to any manual or semi-automatic process.
Eyelets for marquees, awnings, flags and lorry tarpaulins
Nickel-plated metal eyelets are resistant to rusting outdoors and can withstand the mechanical tension typical of tensioned marquees, lorry tarpaulins under lashing straps and flags exposed to the wind. For nautical applications or those involving high humidity, please enquire about the stainless steel model. Please enquire about availability and price.
Self-piercing or pre-punched eyelets? How to choose
Self-piercing eyelets are the quickest option for PVC tarpaulins, technical textiles and materials up to 2 mm thick: they do not require pre-punching. For stiffer or thicker materials — polypropylene, high-density laminated tarpaulins, industrial cardboard — models for automatic machines with pre-punched eyelets offer greater precision and a clean finish.
